The MR Collection represents some of the earliest steel furniture designs by Mies van der Rohe. These chairs were designed in 1927.
The MR Chair was inspired by the Cantilever chair of Mart Stam and Marcel Breuer, Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe replaced the right angles on the front legs with a graceful curve which had the advantage of increasing elasticity while preventing material fatigue.
The chairs have a curved frame of chrome plated tubular steel. The back rest and the seat are made of black vintage leather and are kept together with the original polyester laces.
